    The American Dream...
So I thought this was pretty humerus.

I was going out with Brian Oley the other day to model for photos for his photo class, and there was an election for hall council. So two people were running, one for Prez and one for Secretary. So I jokingly told Brian and Casey to write me in for Vice Prez and Treasurer. Then I told Rachel to vote for me, and get people to. I got 6 votes and am now the new Vice President of Willis Hall.

    Gotta love politics.

    comedy from our resident genius

Ryan ran into the kitchen and found me and Anne working on dinner.

"Hey, I think Jesus would definitely approve of my shoes," he said, holding one up one leg, in a brilliant display of balance, to show off a very torn up slip-on Vans tennis shoe.

    "Why?" Anne said.

"Because they're totally hole-y." He said. "Oh yeah."

He clapped his hands together, shot fake finger guns at both of us, and ran back outside.

    Oh yeah.

    I thought it was funny.

I was driving back from Regal with the raindrops sometimes slamming my windsheild, and sometimes barely sprinkling it. I had just walked in to ask them to take me back. I've run out of options.  The theatre was like a circus with an insane number of people milling about  looking for heartattacks in tubs and little pieces of paper where each one cost them as much as breakfast for two. I circled through the lobby and went straight back out the car, deciding that I would call later on or come back.  I sat in the drivers seat and turned the key, listening to the engine turn over. I sighed, shifting in my seat trying to calm my stomach.  Finally I  gave in and went into reverse into the parking lot and away from the strip mall. I felt tired, overwhelmed, nauseous, and just gross. I started a dialogue with myself in my head.

I actually said this out loud, which I have been known to do when I  think to myself. I am not a quitter. Maybe I did accomplish something this month. I've worked through being sick, and letting that limit me. I'm used to it. I do have some limits (no drinking gallons of milk, or trying to do physical activity for too long.) but I still can talk, and sit and listen and watch movies. I'm learning to work through feeling sick all the time. and now that I've written it all in my livejournal I dont even know. I guess I just wanted to explain to people what I'm actually thinking.

So don't be offended if I haven't talked to you in a while. or be offended and  yell at me. if anyone wants to sit around and watch a movie with me or talk let me know.

(I debated making it so you couldn't comment. But I believe anything I write on livejournal is there because I want to start a dialogue with you people who read  this. At least you all should have the option to flame me if you want to.  so comment if you want. )

-- that's all. I hope you all are having a good summer and had a sucessful time with finals.

    ATTACK!!!!

    News Articles from Boston.com:

"Turner Broadcasting acknowledged late this afternoon that the suspicious objects that ignited fears of bombs across Boston today were magnetic lights that were part of an outdoor marketing campaign for an adult cartoon.

Turner was promoting Adult Swim's animated television show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" in Boston and nine other cities, according to a statement e-mailed by Shirley Powell, a company spokeswoman."

"When explosive material teams examined the devices on bridges and underpasses Wednesday, experts thought that the electronic rectangles could have been bombs, Grossman said. The devices had a power source and wires leading to an object wrapped in duct tape. In the end, the duct tape only contained batteries -- but it could have concealed some type of explosive, Grossman said."

    Back story:

Yesterday there was panic sweeping accross Boston. There were weird black things attached to bridges and overpasses and other places, that were thought to be bombs.

    HOLY SHIT!!!!!!

WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!!

Of course the suspicious devices ended up being cool light up things that were to advertise for Aqua Teen Hunger Force (a fantastic show by the by).  Interstate 93 was shut down for a while. As was the Redline. Complete panic. There were ambulences, Fire Trucks, Police, Helicopters. Man, crazy times in the city. They even blew up the first one they found. You can go on e-bay but the ones people snagged before the Bomb squad went out and took them are selling for like more than $600 which sucks cuz I totally want one for my wall.

So yes. That is the excitement in my tizown for yesterday.

    Did the media over-react?

Definately. They were calling it terrorists
from the start. No proof. Nothing.

    Did the authorites over-react?

This is harder to decide. Because if there were actually bombs, then they
would have responded correctly. But I think the fact that the ads had been in place for a few
weeks kinda changes things. Randomly someone got spooked and then the entire
city stopped. I don't know how I feel about that.

Basically we are at a state with all of this terrorism stuff that we are jumping at everything and we live in fear.

    Which is
    exactly what the terrorists want.

They want us to be afraid and not to live our lives the way we should.

So they are winning without even trying.

Yeah So Turner was wrong and should have cleared this with Boston PD or somthing before doing it. And Turner should have responded way faster when the fiasco started (Supposedly it was a few hours later that they sent a one paragraph apology, before telling Boston PD where all of the ad's were located).

So what do you guys think of all of this?

The guys who were hired to put up the ads have a Fantastic interview that can be found here...

    which just sums up everything.
